Weddings:

St. Nicholas is often seen as a very desirable venue for weddings and is consequently fairly busy, especially during the summer months.

The first point of contact when seeking to book the church for a wedding, is to contact the minister to check the availability of the church.

Once the church is booked and the reception organised, there is the requirement to contact the registrar of the district in which you seek to be married in order to fulfil the legal requirements. This normally consists of filling in a form, giving some personal/family details and the names of the witnesses at the wedding. There is a legal requirement that this is done at least three weeks prior to the wedding as a notice requires to be published outside the registrar’s office. The registrar in Prestwick can be contacted to make an appointment at 2, The Cross, Prestwick - telephone: 01292 671666

There are fees for weddings;
Organist £75
Church Officer £50
Use of the church by non members* £200
*This charge does not apply if either the bride or groom are members or if their parents are members of the congregation.
